Her professional opera début was with Buxton Festival Opera; she sang Emma in Schubert’s rarely performed Fierrabras. Whilst still studying, Kateriana recorded Marie-Curie in the UK premiere of Andriessen’s De Materie for BBC Radio 3. The following year, Opera Omnibus invited Kateriana to create Suzi for Moniousku’s opera Verbum Nobile. Kateriana sang Barbarina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro on tour in the UK and subsequently at the Edinburgh Festival with Palace Opera. Kateriana was asked to sing Musetta in Puccini’s La Boheme for Clonter Opera; a rôle for which she received much critical acclaim. Kateriana sang the Dew Fairy in Humperdinck’s fairy tale opera Hansel und Gretel with Stowe Opera.Kateriana sang the title role in Bizet’s Djamileh in a new English translation for Opera South. As a company member, Kateriana has sung both in house and on tour with Buxton Festival Opera, Mid-Wales Opera, Opera North and the Royal Opera House. Kateriana has performed extensively throughout the British Isles and has enjoyed success in secular and oratorio repertoire most notably Mater Gloriosa in Mahler’s 8th Symphony, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem and, under the baton of Sir David Wilcocks, Verdi’s Requiem. Kateriana was invited to give a private recital for the President of Malta and the Maltese Ambassadors at San Anton Palace.
In recent years, Kateriana has used her stage and production experience for bespoke corporate entertainment, gala events and private engagements.
