Teatru Manoel Youth Opera Showcase alongside Youth Theatre and Youth Dance participants at Teatru Manoel Studio Theatre, Friday 16th December 7pm.

Teatru Manoel Youth Opera Auditions take place.

 

APRIL

Teatru Manoel Youth Opera collaborate with Teatru Manoel Youth Dance in a newly-devised piece, lead by tutors Douglas Comley and Kate. 

MARCH

Teatru Manoel Youth Opera take part in the Teatru Manoel Opera Festival four Gala events. Participants of the programme worked with Kate and visiting director Caroline Clegg on staging solo, duet, trio and ensemble repertoire: Cherubino, Barbarina, Papagena, Olympia, Cissy/Emmie/Harry, Lauretta, Barbara, Pirate Jenny, Johanna. 

2021 

Congratulations to Sam MacGregor (Claires Court) on being chosen for a BBC Radio 1 presenting slot, listen out for Sam in the early morning slot on Friday's in June 2021, part of the BBC's young generation platform. 

2020

NOVEMBER

Congratulations to Ellie Popham (St Swithuns) on being awarded the 2020 Isabel Jay Memorial Prize for operatic aria at the Royal Academy of Music! The chosen aria was Trees on the Mountain from the opera Suzanna by Floyd

Congratulations to Charlotte Jordan (JACAD) who has been cast as Daisy in Coronation Street!

 

JULY

Congratulations to Jemma Revell  (JACAD) who will be joining the Cast of FROZEN in London's West End next April when it debuts in the UK!

Congratulations to Emma Westgate  (JACAD) for gaining a place at Tiffany Theatre College commencing September.

2019

JUNE

Congratulations to Kate's TRINITY Musical Theatre Group at Masquerade.  Eighteen children, aged between 10 and 12 years old, took their Grade V exam and achieved an impressive Distinction result. 

MAY

Congratulations to Bronte Lavine (JACAD) for her amazing/dream job as one of 8 dancers (4 female, 4 male) supporting Hugh Jackman on his WORLD TOUR! Amazing achievement!

Kate's Grade 5 TRINITY Musical Theatre Group at Masquerade, CORAL,  perform their Wizard of OZ showcase and take their Exam. 

APRIL

Divine Mercy Children's Choir sing sacred music on Easter Sunday, 21st April, accompanied by organist Dr. Elizabeth Conrad.

Congratulations to Kate's Musical Theatre and Performance Arts Groups at Masquerade. The score for both groups TRINITY Grade 6 and 7 was an impressive 88% Distinction.

2018

DECEMBER

Divine Mercy Children's Choir, led by Kate, sing their Christmas songs and carols including work by British composer Christopher Field. 

OCTOBER

Sian Brown (JACAD) joins the cast of American in Paris in Germany. Congratulations Sian!

SEPTEMBER

Siân Nabbs (JACAD) joins the cast of Thriller on their UK Tour. Congratulations Siân!

MARCH

JACAD show Dance Art at South Hill Park in Bracknell, featuring Mrs Field's vocal arrangements for two, three, four-part harmony and chorus under the fabulous new vocal coach Alexa Terry. 

Two former pupils at JACAD have been offered places at professional colleges, congratulations Hannah and Greta!

Divine Mercy Children's choir sing four pieces by British Composer Christopher Field at the Divine Mercy Santuary, Naxxar, On the Eve of Easter Concert. 

2017

DECEMBER

Divine Mercy Children's Choir, a new choir for young children, sing Christmas Carols for the Children's procession at Divine Mercy Sanctuary, Naxxar. The choir have also been invited to sing their Carols at Christmas Mass for the service in English. 

AUGUST

Congratulations to Natalie C who passed her Grade VIII Trinity Singing Exam with a high MERIT.

Congratulations to all the Junior and Senior Company singers at JACAD for their performances in this year's National Finals in London. Special mention to Ellie, Georgia, Greta and Hannah for their Song & Dance Quartet, Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, which was awarded a SILVER MEDAL.

Congratulations to the St Swithun's Spring Term Trinity singing exam candidates for their results, particularly the three Grade VIII pupils. The average mark was a high MERIT.

 

Congratulations to St Swithun's pupils taking part in their joint Winchester College production of Lionel Bart's Oliver! Particular mention goes to Emma B for her stand out portrayal of Nancy.

Congratulations to JACAD pupil Natalie who has received the following glowing review from NODA for her portrayal of the role of Grace Farrell in Starmaker's production of ANNIE at South Hill Park:

Natalie Cox – (Grace Farrell) – I cannot believe this young lady is only sixteen! In a role that can so often disappear into the back ground she gave a sophisticated and mature performance of the highest quality. Her dialogue had a wonderfully rhythmic lilt and her character warm affectionate and liberal. She has a superlative singing voice and brought all the numbers she was involved in to life; especially I Think I’m Gonna Like it Here and A New Deal for Christmas.

Congratulations to all the singers who took part in the above festival including Abbie and Georgia who also qualified along with Greta, Ellie, Emma and Liliana  to compete with their solos in the Regional Finals of the All England Dance Competition in June.

Jess L & Alice C represent their houses in St Swithun's Music Competition Finals. Congratulations to Jess L for winning the Intermediate House Music Prize.

JACAD pupils Greta, Ellie, Hannah & Georgia compete with Solo and Quartet Song & Dance pieces in Woking Festival. Congratulations to Greta and Ellie who came FIRST and SECOND respectively in their solo song class.

A Little Night Music at St Swithun's School:

Anesu sings L'ho Perduta from Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. Jess sings No One But You from the Queen Musical We Will Rock You. Emma sings I'm Not That Girl from Schwartz's  Wicked. Rachel sings What is Love? from Empire, (Mosely/Washington/Jones).   The Field Voices sing an a cappella arrangement of Jessie J's song Flashlight, (Sia/Gozeman/Moore/Sam Smith).

 

SEPTEMBER

JACAD singing pupil Katie Barker successfully auditioned for Royal Carribbean Cruises for a nine month singer/dancer contract. This includes singing in the hit show Saturday Night Fever. CONGRATULATIONS KATIE! 

 

AUGUST

Claires Court Pupil Sam MacGregor has been awarded a DISTINCTION for his Grade 6 TRINITY Singing Exam.

OCTOBER 

Singer-Songwriter Sam MacGregor attends Big Music Project as a recipient of RBWM arts bursary, getting advice for songwriting from industry experts.

JACAD leavers Charley, Harriet, Nerys and Chloe perform at the end of year Prize Giving. Having gained scholarships for College, Harriet and Nerys are all continuing their training towards a career on the stage. 

Congratulations to the St Swithun's TRINITY singing exam candidates, encompassing Grades 1 to 8, who all scored over 90% Distinction marks. Fabulous!

Two St Swithun's School Junior School pupils both won their song competition sections with Honours. Well done Aggie & Saskia!

 

APRIL 

JACAD pupil Charley King makes the second round of auditions for the rôle of Johanna in the opera Sweeney Todd at this year's Eisteddfod. This comes after an open audition round where hundreds of hopefuls applied. Charley was the youngest singer in round two and was up against much older professional sopranos. A very talented young lady!
